About Us

Children construct some of their most important learning through play. At CCNS, we believe that joy, engagement and relatedness increase the possibility for learning and creativity, and are required for rigorous and powerful educational experiences.

Christ Church Nursery School was built in 1960 as an outreach of Christ Church Greenwich. We are a part of Christ Church Greenwich but our school is non-denominational. We are very fortunate to be a part of the Christ Church Community and this wonderful facility. Our rooms are large and filled with wonderful, natural light. We have an incredible indoor playground for cold and rainy days, and an outdoor playground with swings, climbers, chalkboards and sandboxes. It is our belief that children must have the opportunity to run and play every day.

CCNS is a happy, nurturing environment. Our dedicated and caring teachers provide long-standing years of service to our school, and our families return with siblings and sometimes even grandchildren! As soon as you walk through our doors of our school, you can feel the warmth and learning.

Our curriculum has a thematic focus and teachers work carefully to make sure that every child is both supported and challenged. Each day children have the opportunity to explore something new or celebrate the joy of a favorite activity. Our goal is to help students to unleash their powers of discovery, investigation, and creativity.

Community and character-building is central at our school. Our educational approach very much supports children in practicing mutual respect, cooperation, leadership, mentoring, listening, personal integrity, valuing differences, and conflict resolution. We help foster the social skills children need to thrive in the relationships they form throughout their lives.

Our Harvest Fair, Holiday Sing, Movie Nights, Book Fair, Art Show, and End of the Year party are events that delight CCNS families and build long-lasting relationships.
